Over the past week I have been wondering what the new ipod generation will bring. I have explored the current version which is the iPod 6G and there is not much that really can be added other than more space and maybe making the device a bit thinner.

It seems like the brilliant minds down over at apple has finally gone cold? Will we see any more new inovation from Apple in terms of the iPod device. I am tempted to say Yes! but I have seen much evidence surfacing lately to suggest such.

Maybe Mr. Jobs should hold an online survey on what are some of the features we as consummers want to see in the next generation iPod. Here are some of my personal suggestions.

1. Thinner device
2. More Memory
3. Longer battery life

There must some other alternative to this task there other music sources such as yahoo music and rhapsody but these operate the same way as iTunes so that does make any sense it like one step forward and 2 steps back. Then there is your own cd collection which is a great source of music and not just music but music you like since you bought in the first place :) . I personally recommend you to start with this option get you own cd collection and put the music onto your ipod, but that is not enough with the music industry changing and releasing new songs almost every week how are you going to keep up with it all with out going broke.

Well then we have to continue to look for more alternatives. Well let me think for while... The iPod could once again radically change music-listening habits, and offer a financial boon to an ailing music industry.

The most popular digital media player on the market might soon be available at a price that would include free access to Apple's online music library, iTunes.

If negotiations of the so-called "Total Music" plan between Apple, Inc. and four major music labels -- first reported this week by the Financial Times -- come to fruition, Apple would essentially offer free, unlimited iTunes downloads to consumers who pay a premium for an iPod device.

Apple is also looking at a subscription service for iPhone users, which would allow unlimited iTunes access in exchange for a monthly fee.

The Total Music concept is based on Nokia's Comes With Music plan, which allows free downloads from Universal Music Group on some of its cellphones, resembling a subscription service.

Other networks including Vodafone and Rhapsody are also trying to stake their claim in the online music gold rush with similar business models.

But none have the market penetration of the iPod, which is becoming almost as common in households as the television.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has long argued that consumers want to download and own their music, not rent it, but it appears he's changed his tune.

With diverse listening options available online, it seems some consumers are becoming hungrier for a wider range of easily accessible music rather than owning a personal collection.

Record companies and musicians have long struggled over the open boundaries the Internet presents to consumers, trying to find innovative ways to track and monetize the consumption of their music online, while sites such as BitTorrent and LimeWire allow quality downloads for free.

The iPod touch is so good, mainly because everything revolves around a touch screen. Meaning you will not be delayed when you search for a letter anymore or try to get your finger to fit in between two small buttons. To me I like the ipod touch because I can do everything quick and its fancy and looks good around others when you can simply touch something on the screen with your finger or screen pen and then it comes up straight away.

The picture quality is as good as all the other products from apple. The same goes for the audio quality. I found the IPOD touch a little bit more expensive than the other products from apple because it was. Also the price of the product did not go down as much as the other products when it began to age. I expect it would take a lot, cost a lot to create such a product that relies on touching the screen so i can understand why apple charge a lot for such a product.

The IPOD touch is not that strong though. It would not be wise to take it with you when you go for a run or play sport. Its a lot less durable then the shuffle but the other benefits far outweigh the negatives. I am really looking forward to a new version of the IPOD touch coming out i think it will be even more fantastic than the current version, if that is even possible.
